Docket Scanning

You can import dockets into PalletWatch by scanning.  This is where PalletWatch uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition).  The user would scan pallet dockets to a PDF file and this file is then imported into PalletWatch instead of keying it.

The scanning function is better suited to computer generated dockets rather than handwritten ones.  Future enhancements in PalletWatch may make the scanning of handwritten dockets more improved than is currently the case.

To scan dockets please do the following:
  1. Go to Data\Imports.
  2. Click on the Docket Scans tab.
  3. Drag the file into the Drop File box.
  4. The file will display  along with a Download box where you can download the file if you want.
  5. The file will not immediately display as the OCR does its work.
  6. Once the file is available to review a Review button will appear.
  7. When you click on the Review button the screen will display a Create Docket form alongside the scanned PDF docket.
  8. There is an Action box at the top of the screen where you can Review, Ignore the docket.  It also shows you the Scan Confidence.
  9. You should have a look at the fields in the Create Docket form and enter or change any that don't match the PDF.
  10. Once you are satisfied you can click on the Accept button and on the right of the screen under the Pages column will appear the docket numbers.  These docket numbers have a link so that when you click on it you will be taken to the Dockets screen.  You will see that there is a note which indicates that the PDF file has been saved against the docket.
