Linked Docket Tracking

Linked Docket Tracking

Linked Docket Tracking is a feature which can be used by carriers.  By using a Link Reference it is possible to view a transfer on and its corresponding transfer offs and/or non hire move offs.  The aim of this is to ensure that all pallets transferred on to your account have dockets raised to cover the offs.  The most effective way of using Linked Docket Tracking is likely to be by using your Transport Management System (TMS).   It is essential that transfer on dockets have your Con Note number in a Reference field so that you can find the consignment in your TMS.

Once you have found the consignment you should be able to see all of the delivery details.  You could have one pickup and multiple deliveries - all linked through a common Link Reference.  There may be consignments not suited to Linked Docket Tracking such as a pickup which is brought to a depot, pallets broken down and delivered in a different configuration.

To enable the Linked Docket tracking feature you do the following:
  1. Go to Data/Account Setup.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. In the Enabled Features tab select "Linked Docket Tracking".
The following explains how to use Linked Docket Tracking.
  1. As you enter a transfer on docket there is a field called Link Reference.  You can link by Docket Number or Reference.  The Docket Number is for the docket that you would be currently entering.  In most cases this would be the transfer on docket number.  This docket number would have to be entered in the Link Reference field for all on and off dockets associated with the transfer on docket
  2. To view Linked Dockets you go to Actions on the top menu and then select Linked Docket Tracking.
  3. There are filters available to display Unresolved Only or Show dockets older than 3 months.
  4. In the same screen you will see a button for the Linked Docket Tracking Report.
Please note that the Linked Docket Tracking screen shows only dockets under 3 months old.  If you need to see older dockets then tick the "Show dockets older than 3 months" checkbox.  It is possible that one docket may be less than 3 months old and the other linked docket may be older than 3 months so at first glance it may appear with a variance.  Ticking the checkbox will show all dockets.

There is another checkbox which filters the screen so that you only see unresolved dockets.
