Partial Dockets

Partial Dockets

Partial Dockets

Partial Dockets are an alternative to using handwritten CHEP or Loscam pallet books.  Normally Partial dockets are printed with some of the fields completed and given to drivers.  It is advisable to keep a record of what docket number range has been provided to drivers.  Partial dockets can also be pre-printed so that you have some dockets on hand in case the user has internet problems and cannot access PalletWatch.  It is also advisable to have a printed copy of the Trading Partners Report.

Setting Up Partial Dockets

Before you can use Partial Dockets you need to set them up for your account.  This is done as follows:
  1. Go to Data/Account Setup.
  2. In Enabled features select Partial Dockets.
  3. Click Save at the bottom of the screen.
If you do not have access to Data\Account Setup then please contact support@palletwatch.com.au.

Printing Partial Dockets from Create Docket screen

You can print these dockets by doing the following:

Go to Create Docket.
Select Transfer Off or Non Hire Move Off.
Tick Partial Docket.
Enter the number of dockets you need in the #Partial Docket field.
Enter any details you want to appear on all the dockets you print.
The Reference field needs something in it so please enter a full stop just so it will allow the dockets to be generated.
Scroll down to the bottom and click Print on one of the dockets.

Using a Partial Docket for a single transfer

A Partial docket could be a good option when there is uncertainty about the number of pallets to be picked up by a driver.  Instead of creating a number of partial dockets you could just create one partial docket with multiple copies and all details completed apart from the quantity.  The driver will need to write the quantity on the docket when the pickup is done.  The docket would be updated as per the instruction below.

Printing Partial Dockets from the Data\Partial Dockets screen

You can also print or edit Partial Dockets from the Data\Partial Dockets screen.
  1. Go to Data\Partial Dockets.
  2. You can select some of the filters, e.g. Hire Company, Trading Partner, etc, and then click the Search button.
  3. At the left of the Edit button against each docket number there is a checkbox which you can tick for the dockets you want to print out.
  4. Once you have ticked the boxes you can go to the Action box at the right of screen and click on the down arrow which will show you how many dockets will be printed.

Updating a Partial Docket

Your staff will handwrite in the missing information on a partial docket and return it to a pallet controller to update.  This is very important as nothing will happen to the transfer until it has been edited in PalletWatch.  You can edit a Partial Docket by doing the following:
  1. Go to Data/Partial Dockets.
  2. Enter the docket number in the Docket No. field and click Search.
  3. When the docket appears, click on Edit and then update the fields which have been handwritten.
  4. Click the Update button.
  5. Once a Partial Docket has been updated it is no longer a Partial Docket and can be found using the normal search fields.  It will not be found by searching Partial Dockets.
It is important to note that unless the Update button is clicked the docket remains a partial docket and will not be exported.
