Replacement Docket
There may be times where a trading partner agrees to reinstate a transfer off from your account to them but instead of reinstating the original docket they ask you to raise a docket with a Z suffix. This means that they want you to raise a new docket using the same docket number but change the last letter to a Z. They may also want you to change some details of the original docket, e.g. effective date, equipment, trading partner, etc.
The following explains how you can raise a docket with a Z suffix.
- Go to Data/Dockets.
- Search for the docket number that is going to be used as the basis for the Z docket.
- Copy the docket number and take note of the Equipment type and Quantity.
- Click on the dropdown arrow to the left of the docket number and select Clone.
- Click on the Docket No. button so that it changes from Auto to Manual.
- Paste in the docket number you copied and replace the last letter with a Z.
- Enter any other relevant data and make a note in the Notes field and Reconcile Notes field so you have a record of the docket this Z docket replaces.
Alternatively, you do not have to use the Clone function. You can just raise a docket as you would do normally but ensure that you use the original docket number with a Z at the end.
