Create new stocktake
Stocktakes should be conducted at least monthly and as close as possible to the CHEP or Loscam close off dates. Irrespective of this, PalletWatch will display an adjusted count to bring it in line with the invoice date so you can count CHEP and Loscam on the same date. If there are more than 1 or 2 days difference then try to count CHEP and Loscam as close as possible to their close off dates. This may not always be practical. Please note that the Reconcile Report will show Count and Updated Count. Count is the physical count and Updated count is where PalletWatch takes the physical count figures and adds and subtracts movements to bring the Count in line with the Invoice Date.
PalletWatch assumes that the count is done at the end of the day. If you count first thing in the morning then please enter the date as the day before.
To create a new stocktake please do the following:
- Go to Data and then Stocktakes.
- Click on the Create New Stocktake button.
- Add the stocktake count details. The stocktake date is the date the equipment is physically counted. If you have no equipment to count then you can enter 0 against the equipment.
Time Started and Time Ended are not mandatory but may help the pallet controller with determining if pallets were received or despatched before/after the stocktake.
In Transit
Equipment will be considered as in transit to the receiver if it has not been received by the count date. If it is a depot to depot movement then the equipment will be off the books of the despatcher and in transit to the receiver. These movements will be displayed on the Reconcile report.
Mandatory Equipment Counts
It is possible to force the user to enter a count, even if it is 0, for all equipment. Unless a figure is entered for each equipment type then the user will be unable to save the stocktake. If you want to apply this rule you can do it by doing the following:
- Go to Data\Account Setup.
- In the Settings tab select "Stocktake All Equipment Required".
