Trading Partner Terms

You can setup and view trading terms for your account by going to Trading Partner Terms under Data in the main menu.

To Set a Trading Partner Term

You can set a trading partner term as follows:
  1. Go to Data\Trading Partner Terms.
  2. Click on Create New Term.
  3. Give the term a name - this can be anything, e.g. 30 days off, etc.
  4. Enter a start date in the Term Effective Date.
  5. Select the Sender and Receiver.  If you are unsure of the name check in the Trading Partners form by going to Data\Trading Partners.
  6. Hire Equipment and Equipment are optional fields.
  7. Select the Delay Day Type and the number of days.  If you want the user to select from a list of allowable delay days then enter 0 and make entries in the Sender Days, e.g. 0, 7, 30, 45, etc.  Do not enter anything in the Sender Days if there is only one option.
  8. Tick the EDO checkbox if an EDO is in place.
  9. The "Both directions" checkbox lets you apply the same delay days to the opposite transaction, e.g. if a trading partner applies 30 days delay to your transfer off you can apply the same to their transfer ons.
  10. Other fields below are optional.

Clone a Trading Partner Term

If you find a trading partner term that you want to duplicate and change the trading partner or other details you can click the Clone button.

Equipment Days Offset (EDO)

CHEP has the functionality to let you automate delay days.  More information on EDOs can be found by clicking here.

Global Preset Terms

There are some terms which are applied globally, i.e. they apply to most companies.  These global terms include companies such as the major retailers.  If you disagree with a global term you will need to contact the company applying them.  PalletWatch automatically applies these global terms.  You can tell if it is a global term as the Sender or Receiver will display as "PalletWatch System Root".

PalletWatch has preset global terms for some major companies as shown in the table below.
